Squēz is a portable music player designed for mothers to help them maintain and strengthen bonds with their children. Squēz allows mothers and their children to share music with each other and introduces music as a form of communication. It allows mothers to stay current in their children's lives and enables the ability to create new memories. The physical design of Squēz enables portability with its size and affords squeezing, as the main interaction.

Key Interactions

• Press the Squēz to turn it on or to pause it.
• Squeeze the Squēz to send songs to your children and to play songs your children are sending you.
• Slide your finger across the Squēz—to choose the previous/next song in a playlist.
• Shake the Squēz to delete a song.
• Press the Squēz for 2 seconds to lock the controls.  This lets you simply play with it without interrupting your songs.  Press it for another 2 seconds to unlock the controls.
• The Squēz will turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity. 

How it Works

• Automatic speaker detection:  Squēz connects wirelessly to any available set of speakers, as long as those speakers are equipped with the SquēzPort wireless adapter.
• Easy Setup:  Your children can send and receive your songs from their preferred music player, using our SquēzSoft software plugin. The Squēz device has been designed especially for moms.

Feature Details

• Your Playlists:  the Squēz enables multiple playlists—groups of songs, organized however you wish—configurable via your desktop computer.
• Your Children:  Squēz keeps a special playlist for each of your children.  You can associate a color with each child; when that child sends you a song, Squēz will glow with that color, and the song will be added to that child’s playlist (unless you delete it).
• Receiving a Song:  When someone sends you a song, Squēz lights up, using the sender’s color.  Squeeze the Squēz to accept the song; it will play as soon as your current song is finished.  You may also squeeze Squēz again to play the song immediately.  When the new song finishes, your previous playlist resumes. The song will be saved automatically when the song is done. To delete the song shake the Squēz while the song is playing.
• Sending a Song:  when you hear a song you’d like to send to someone, squeeze the Squēz.  It will immediately display the “My Kids” group; and prompt you to choose a child.  The Squēz will glow that child’s color, and become warmer, to let you know the song has been sent.
